Decision of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 689 of October 22, 2007 on Endorsing the Regulations on Licensing the Activity of Detecting Electronic Devices Intended for Covertly Obtaining Information on Premises and in Technical Facilities (Except for Cases when This Activity is Pursued for the Legal Entity's or Individual Entrepreneur's Own Needs)

A new procedure is established for licensing the activity of detecting eavesdropping electronic devices on premises and in technical facilities. The licensor is the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. The list of licence terms and conditions and the list of the documents filed for licensing purposes have been modified. The effective term of the licence remains unchanged, i.e. 5 years. The licensing procedure so established does not extend to activities relating to state secret protection.

The amendment made are due to the entry into force, effective January 1, 2008, of the new Regulations on Bookkeeping Rules for the Credit Organisations Located on the Territory of the Russian Federation. The direction is to be officially published in Vestnik Banka Rossii and it enters into force as of January 1, 2008. Registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, registration No. 10351 of October 19, 2007.

Order of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation No. 199/87n of October 15, 2007 on Endorsing the Procedure for Calculating the Remuneration Payable to a Barrister Taking Part as Defence in Criminal Judicial Proceedings by Appointment of Inquiry or Preliminary Investigation Bodies or a Court Depending on the Complexity of the Criminal Case

A barrister cannot be appointed by a prosecutor. The rate of payment due a barrister per day is from 275 to 1,100 roubles or 550 to 2,000 per day-off, holiday or night-time. Registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, registration No. 10349 of October 17, 2007.
